Hi there, I'm Chris, a resident of Plymouth for nearly 50 years. I have faced the barrier of ageism during the latter half of my career, with people being reluctant to hire older individuals or fearing that they are overqualified. However, with age comes experience, both good and bad, which can be valuable to a diverse workforce. I am currently working with retired individuals and have found that their diverse experiences from previous careers have helped to develop the support we give. The flexibility of working, such as with zero hours contracts, is ideal for people like myself who want to work long hours during certain weeks but also have the option to take time off.
